Yeah... but Houston is calling for heavy thunderstorms... which means I have to drive to and from in that crap. We are at 60% +

The FAA aviation weather forecast says the Tstorms will be gone (in MW) by 0600 Saturday. I choose to believe the good ones.

One cool because it won't rain most of Saturday.

One more cool because it'll be wet making it pointless to wash the car before I leave Sat. morning.

Really looking forward to this weekend! I think it'll be a blast! One thing I thought of... Would it be possible to set up a drag race of sorts? Basically, have two cars cruising at 15-20 mph in 2nd gear and run through some timers or just to a set "finish line". It would be great to see an M3 vs. an STi vs. an RX-8 in a typical "autocross straightaway".

I'm sure we could do this safely and it would be hardly different from a "pro solo" type start....just a roll-on instead of a standing start.

Maybe we make one lane and use the DL-1 to "show" the times. I don't want two cars drag racing anywhere. I want to be allowed to do this practice again.

Check list before you leave the house:

● Big plastic cooler (hold stuff and is water proof)
● Tire guage
● Air compressor (plug into ciggy lighter type)
● Towels
● Ice (for intercooler)
● Spray bottle (for tires and/or intercooler)
● Helmet + bag
● Mechanix style gloves
● Torque Wrench + wheel socket (even when not changing tires)
● Aluminum jack ($55 at the HF sidewalk sale LAST weekend!)
● Towels (or Towal)
● Umbrella
● Sunglasses
● Sun Screen
● Hat (big floppy gay SCCA hat for extra points)
● Jacket/cold gear? (in case weather "turns")
● Fold-up chair (ahhh....)
● Rain Suit
● Air Gauge ($25-30)
● Extra lug nuts, brake fluid, motor oil
● Some hand tools
● Zip ties, duct tape, bailing wire. Helpful for GM cars.
● Walking shoes + thin soled or (gasp) "racing" shoes
● Small pit bike/Razor scooter/mini-bike
● Set of special "Rain Tires" and wheels
● Pit Babes

On another note, I got the DL-1, but it is D.O.A. The GPS won't lock like the manual says. I did drive around the block and collected data that appeared very close to accurate, but for some reason the "GPS is locked" light doesn't work. When it rains it pours!

OK, Race Technology redeemed itself. I sent them an email saying I was testing 15 cars tomorrow and needed an answer. They called me right back and said based on the data I sent them it is working correctly which is good. They said they'd swap it out with a new one from their US distributor next week.
