Are you an engineering student in the north Dallas area? Do you have any interest in cars and auto racing? We might have the coolest job open you might ever see.
Vorshlag Motorsports is a manufacturer of suspension components and other racing related products sold all over the world, we are growing, and we need some drafting help. We have a mountain of new product designs, updates and revisions that we need a CAD expert to help us get into machine drawings, to allow us to get them into prototype and production form quickly. This job search is currently for part time help (20 hours/week) but if the person we hire is a "good fit", and we stay this busy, it could easily lead to full time work.
Here are the basics of this position:
We have several in-house sports and race cars that we use for development, and we work on dozens more every month in our shop/service area. Getting to turn ideas and concepts into real products that go onto race cars? Yeah, that's what you would do. To a car guy, wanting to get into the engineering field, this is a dream job.
Additional skill sets that would be welcome but are by no means required:

We are not looking for remote CAD/design work help at this time - strictly in-house CAD work using our dedicated SolidWorks workstation. We have a lot of cars and experience here, and our new designer / draftsman needs to be working here with us, all under the same roof. An engineering student familiar with this software would be ideal, but anyone with current CAD experience on SolidWorks (or Pro-E or an equivalent platform) is welcome to apply. All inquires kept strictly confidential. Please send resumés to fair (at) vorshlag (dot) com or faxed to us at 972-422-7253.
Once this position is filled I will post a notification in this thread.
Thanks,
Terry Fair - owner @ Vorshlag

Here are the basics of this position:
- SolidWorks design and drafting work
- Work with our on-site engineer to complete various suspension component designs based on his direction
- Update existing drawings and convert others from previous CAD systems
- Pay will be appropriate to experience level
- We can work around student schedules. Our office hours are 9am-6pm weekdays, so hours would be within that range.
- Fridays and Mondays are both high volume sales days here - so there might be some additional order packaging/parts assembly help needed on those days. We all wear a lot of hats around here.

Additional skill sets that would be welcome but are by no means required:
- Familiarity with automotive suspension basics... not required but extremely helpful (or willingness to learn)
- Photo/video editing experience
- Web design/updates
