Fair, Hanchey, Amy aka National Champion, *****ES!, and myself went out to the LSC BMWCCA D.E. (aka lapping event) soutwest of Ft. Worth for a few hours on Saturday. We went out for a little bit to spectate. I'd never been to Motorsports Ranch Cresson, but had ridden with an instructor in a C6 at MSR-Houston last year. The Cresson course is a lot more interesting thanks to elevation changes and isn't bad to look at either. The reason I know this is because we showed up right before the parade laps commenced and got to take my car out for 5 semi-casual laps (read: some tire squealing, but nothing too crazy). That was an unexpected surprise and is definitely a good way to get people more interested in D.E. type events. I also realized that us poor folk into cars go to autocrosses and the "rich" car nuts go to D.E.s as that is where all the E46 M3s, 330 ZHPs, E39/E60 M5s/M6s and E90/E92 335i cars were at. I think Vorshlag needs to have a table or some more presence at the next one because of this. Got to sell those E46 parts somehow! There were also more E30 M3s than I've ever seen in one place, however. In short, a completely different environment to the autocrosses. Here are pictures I took with my 4yo Olympus 5MP compact, but Amy took a bunch of SLR pics that will hopefully be posted soon.
