Re: In-Car Video - Post your links and tech here
I bought one of the Aiptek HD cameras and used it this past weekend at the Hallett races. I got incredible in-car from it. I'm very happy with the results, but here is where I can use some advice.
I don't have a Mac in the house (go figure...), so what can I do to edit and reduce file sizes? A 20 minute race was almost 900 megs. I want to be able to make highlight videos by splicing footage together, and I want to be able to make high res and low res versions for webposting. I tried some web searching and found some apps that claim to be able to convert MOV to AVI, but so far I have not found one that actually works. One of them ran all night looking like it was happy, then pooted on the final step 10 hours later
I ended up using Quicktime Pro to trim off the excess footage to just the race, and was also able to export in in a smaller resolution. But QT Pro seems pretty limitied compaired to the apps I have used for AVI or WMV files. Any experts out there that can help me out?
Thanks,
jeff
