Re: Question about my car and the way its "tracking"

I could be wrong, but I know with the E46 it's better to just get new LCAs with the bushings than to try to replace the bushings. Anybody else know if this is the case with the E36?

I have thought about that too.. The bushing has already been replaced once..

I was looking at this hybrid bushing that has a limited lifetime warranty

Unless anyone has some M-LCA Bushings sitting around that they would like to sell me....

Front LCAs are easy to swap with the right tools. I'd just put some offset M3 pieces in there and not worry about it again for another 75k miles.

by offset do you mean 1995 m3 ? or 1996 and above.. I know there is a difference... You are supposed to get realigned if you use the 1995 ones.

Yup, offset '95 for the front (more caster and wheelbase). The '96+ M3 bushings are for the rear.

Every time we've used '95 M3 offset bushings on '96-99 M3s it has posed problems with tire clearance. This is with 255/40/17 tires. Just FYI... might not be a concern with your tires and/or non-Ms in general.

Yes. If you run 255 wide tires they will hit the fenders if lowered or over big bumps.

Actually, I daily drove 255/40-17's on my 325is with the '95 M bushings up front with no issues.

finally got around to replacing the lcab. What a difference! The car still tracks just a tad but it is 100X better then what it was.

                              Thanks for the help all!
