As to four vs. two, I'd think a call to Bimmerworld or Turner could sort out why they ran four doors. The cousin of one of our locals is BW's crew chief, if calling their CSRs doesn't get you anywhere (understandable) I can see if we can find anything out via that channel.
Anyway, for whatever it's worth, I still have the lightest DS car I've ever heard of. 4 doors, with a sunroof. Maybe I missed the DS 330 heyday or maybe the light guys haven't said anything, but that stands. BMW does list the 4 door as slightly *narrower*. (like .3" or something, not sure where that comes from, the front fenders are where my car is widest)
I'm not sure you'll need flares, Doug's fenders are simply pulled and he's run 305s. (I think I saw 295's on there at Nats this year)
