Well, for grins I weighed my car in "street trim".

RF 781
LR 755
RR 765

TTL 3083, No driver, 5/8 tank, with spare.

Definitely need 2-3 people to roll the car up on the pads...

OK, the car is nice and balanced with no one in it! Then I got in the car.

The left front and left rear are 60 pounds more each than the right side. There's really no way around this without adding weight to the right side of the car correct (or removing from the left)? I took McCall's seat out of the right side and put the stock one back in. I haven't weighed it yet, but it should be more balanced now albeit heavier.

Don't add the weight to balance the car. No, there isn't anything you can do about a left/right front/rear bias without removing or adding weight.

I'd always take LESS weight and unbalanced than a perfect balance with MORE weight...

Also, I would imagine that balancing the weight near the center of the car would make a lot less difference than at the corners. Center of rotational mass yadda yadda.

I guess the point I was trying to make was, 1. I had to return the seat anyway. 2. The car might be better off with the good seat in the driver's side. That probably would fix it.

So your thought is to just put one lightweight race seat on the driver's side and keep the stock heavier passenger side.

So what is better, lightening the car overall to the determent of the weight balance or making sure the balance is as close as possible abeit heavier? I, for one, think getting the car as light as possible is better.

I'm not made of money here. I'm probably going to buy ONE racing seat in the near future. Now that I have scales it makes sense it should be the driver's seat. Yes, I agree, two light seats would be better.

I'm in the same boat, Brian, and I'm not casting stones, by any means. Just trying to answer your's and McCall's questions. I'll be getting a driver's side seat first, then the passenger side will come later....

Found an issue last night. Looks like my new toe plates are paying off. The front axle was toed in 1/2". Nice setup Bri!

Note to self... never use warped 2X4's to check toe again...
