I remember SPEED asked about a return to USA tracks and Bernie E saying he was in talks with a few tracks and that he was hopeful something could get on the schedule by 2011 or 2012?

That Carbon Motors police car... intriguing. Making it a police car from the beginning opens up all sorts of possibility and efficiencies. I bet it could be pushed into cabbie use too.



Is this legit? Its not based off anything existing, its a purpose built car? The turbo diesel makes a LOT of sense for a police car that idles a lot (diesels use very little fuel at idle compared to gasoline 4 cycle engines). This would essentially be a new car maker in America... which is VERY rare.

I remember them saying something on SPEED about "I wish they would pour some money into Watkins Glen and make if F1 certified." that would be pretty sweet.

They are trying to make it legit, but thus far it is still a pipe dream. I hope they make it work, but I really don't have high hopes. I Just don't think they are going to talk departments into the HUGE up front costs this thing is going to require. Spreading the cost over a longer vehicle life might make sense, but Gubmint types don't think about it that way. All they want to know is how much is it going to take out of THIS years budget.
