I agree with the user comments on the link above...the last car that likely needs a Supra motor would be a SBC car like the Vette. 400hp would be easy with bolt ons and............ no turbo lag!!

It's FS (the 335i) and no, no one brought one.

It's still a one-wheel-peel BMW, and running it against a Shelby with carbon clutch packs would be silly. The brand new Auburn Paul put in his car still smoked the right rear tire around corners (as did every other F-body).

Can you tell us more about the 07 Shelby's ? How'd did Strano's look ? Also, did the Mustangs not one-wheel peel ?? I guess I don't understand what carbon clutch packs are - in the diff or the tranny-clutch ?

The Mustang differentials are filled with clutch packs (they look like a disc with a big hole in it http://www.seanhylandmotorsport.com/...s/M-4700-L.jpg ) that cause friction to lock both wheels. Apparently there's some technicality that you can rebuild a Mustang Shelby diff with carbon clutch packs which grip insanely better than factory junk, and probably last longer. No, these cars did not one-wheel peel around turns. They just launched. Combine that with the ESP goodies they get (springs, shifter, STB, CAI), and it's just a crazy car for "stock".

Granted, Strano is a multi-time national champion, and a fast driver, but it's looking like it's going to be the same deal as was with the rallye cars. Over time, more folks will buy them, figure out more ways to tweak them, and then they'll just be an overdog. I heard a lot of folks at nats say they won't come back in FS so long as that Shelby is still classed there.

One 335i in F Stock, 21st of 29 entries. D'oh! It's probably a better all around street car than an Autocross champ with that weight/size and no limited slip. It lapped VIR faster than the Z4 M Coupe in the C&D lightning lap times, so with an extra oil cooler, it might make a good DE car.
