When I was driving the M Coupe back to Atlanta, this totally happened to me. There was a wreck on the Interstate. Being so low, I couldn't see what was going on so I minded my own business in the closed lane. Then I had to move over and these white trash rednecks in a beat up Suburban wouldn't let me merge. She had the window down and started yelling at me, "It's been closed for miles couldn't you see that??". I said, "uh, NO!" It wasn't like I was hauling butt in the closed lane and trying to zip in avoiding traffic. Grr, i'm still bitter.

I had a similar yet more heated incident in my M3 here in Dallas, but it gets my blood pressure going, so I don't even want to tell the story.

You have to admit - the TTAC editorial "predictions" over the past months about GM's looming demise have been eerily accurate. Also, I think this series of "negative" editorials are a necessary counter-point to the majority of mute/deaf/blind auto journalists who are either too afraid or too stupid to see the inevitable outcome of this bloodletting at GM for the past few years. All we hear from Bob Lutz and Rick Wagoner is "we've got a solution!" but they keep shedding billions per quarter.

I suspect there's another series of somewhat dismal editorials about Delta, Continental, Northwest, and Delta - all of which are losing "GM levels" of money (relative to their overall size/worth) per quarter, or more. Case in point: Northwest predicts $1.7b in loses, Delta predicts $2.6b lost in '05. American predicts "significant" forth-quarter and full-year losses despite strong travel demand. The carrier recorded a record 81% of its seats filled in the 3rd quarter, too...

These are some of our biggest industries in this country, and they are dying, fast. I do think we need to hear truthful, if somewhat negative articles from journalists...

I agree with your point but when these same journalists go way out of their way to only report negative news that is when it grows stale. When the true journalism goes out the window, replaced by just personal hate and vile, that's when it crosses the line. It's obvious that Robert has a true disdain for GM and I'm not sure why but he sure takes anything GM very personal it seems. I could go back and point out specific quotes from his past articles where he take press releases and projects his own personal spin on them but I'm too lazy. I wonder if they ran over his dog or something.
