Thanks for the suggestions on the Webers. Don't know if its worth putting time and money into the Webers if the motor in the car is the worst of the worst. Need to get creative with the drivetrain... thoughts?
Thanks for activating my account, Terry!
You asked for it, here's a couple vids to tempt you to go with a VH45 powerplant for your newest (re)acquisition:
It's a 240z with a VH45 out of a Q45 just like the one I have sitting around. And he had an adaptor plate made to match it up to a T56 just like the one I have sitting around!
I still think a 302 / T5 would make the car fly with very little money. But I'm old skool in my modded Z car thinking these days...
Check Motorsport Auto as a source for what is out there for these cars. They were one of the best parts places and I think they have kept up with alot of what is availible for the older Zcars. http://www.motorsportauto.com/
Generic aluminum Chevy rads can fit. My ITS car used one. Only bad thing is they hang down below the core support by a few inches. I found an off the shelf that fit way better and gave the info to the guy that bought my ITS car. I think it was from Rod Davis but that is from memory...
Funny - I just checked my pile of Zcar catalogs, none of them have website addresses in them... where has the time gone!

Evil temptations. I've now seen all of his videos and the build page. Very crazy... but I like it! What year is that Q45 you have? Mileage? Does it drive?
We were looking at making a car for running Redline Time Attack events. They have banned the super technologically advanced push rod motors (ha!) so we're looking for a workaround to use a V8 powered lightweight car...

Seriously... $250 each for a 16x7? Pu-lease... that's little girl sized! At least the wheels I was posting were 8" wide. Panasports look great, but costas too much.
OK, one big spot of rust that had me worried is on the cowl, but I see this is now is an easily replaceable panel found for $199 on fleaBay.
Of course if it got a trick 32 valve V8 it would have to get an 8 TB intake... That VH45 motor has a goofy sideways intake runner arrangement. Nasty.
Talk to me, autophile...
Those 8 TBs look great! And ALOT better than that stock intake, for sure.
The Q is a 1994. In my research, that's better than the 92 and 93s because they upgraded the timing chain guards. I don't remember how many miles it has, but not a low mileage example. It runs and drives.
I was going to put the drivetrain in either a '79 280zx or an E34. But that project is on hold for now.
