  • Evo School In Texarkana...Possible new site??

I have been talking with Mike Walden, the President of the Texarkana Autox club, about an Evo school event that both MeL and Amy want to go to in February.

First off, does anyone want to sign up? He needs a few more people confirmed to put it together. Saturday will be phase 1 and Sunday will be phase 2. It's phase 1 he needs more people for. The cost will be $210 for the day. He did confirm that Jerry Teranova will be one of the instructors. Please contact him at admin@txkautox.com or 903-277-9193 to sign up.

Well, while talking to him about the school, he started to talk about their new site at the airport. He claims they can do 100+ second courses and they are running on almost brand new smooth asphalt, very simular to the new Topeka site. They also sometimes incorporate part of the runway and run lapping-type sessions as well. I think this place is definitely worth checking out for a few events this year. Here are some pics:

Oh yea, Texarkana is about 3 hours from Plano.

Looks like the Evo school dates are Feb 4th & 5th. So who else is going besides MeL, Amy, and Paul?

It looks like the Vorshlag turn-out will be pretty good with MeL, Amy, Paul, and Sean. Check here to make sure you are paid up: http://www.txkautox.com/evo.html

I believe MeL and Amy will be driving out on Friday night and getting a hotel room. Then they will run the school on Saturday and drive back that night.

You guys need to let us know how good their site is...

Punky finally paid up. She's excited.

With the girls out of town that night we should have the "club" meet up at someone's "house".

This was a lot of fun/very useful.

I managed to drop 3.4 seconds on a ~40 second course during the day. They had some good tips and worked with each individual on areas they needed to improve on.

Unfortunately MadMel pulled a super time out on her 2nd to last run and beat me by 28/1000ths of a second. Amy smoked both of us by nearly .9 seconds.

The instructors were Jerry Travano(sp) and Jinx (forgot last name). Jinx was flown in from the east coast.

After lunch, they talked about looking ahead and used my car (only sedan) to drive people around the course to talk about points to look toward. PimpT Taxi.
