Southwest Casting is helping Synthetic Pictures cast a SPEC
commercial for BMW.
A spec commercial is a speculative spot produced hoping the company
advertised in the commercial will buy the commercial or concept.
There is pay. $50 for the shoot day. If the spot is purchased and
makes a profit, each actor will receive an additional $1000. Talent
will be required to sign a release.
I am told by the producer that SAG members may submit to this, and if
they are cast and the spot is picked up, SAG members will be paid SAG
scale. You should independently verify this, though.
This will require an audition. The audition date and location has
not been determined yet, but will be soon.
This shoots Friday, February 23, 2007, in Houston.
Here is who we are looking for:
2 males between late 20s and late 30s
good looking, but not model looking
hip, smart, and part of the creative class
they would be tech execs. in silicon valley, but not nerds
(maybe Luke Wilson types)
More description of these two characters from the producers:
"Both men in this spot would be in their mid 30's. They would look
like the hip Silicone Valley type, young, successful and living
exciting active lives. By their stylish clothes, modern house and
taste in vehicles we see they enjoy the finer things. We get the
feeling that they are the X generation's version of Bill Gates and
Steve Jobs."
The creative was based on the movie PRIMER.
