What class would I be in?

I never have had a good, accurate idea of what class I should be in LEGALLY.

I figured you guys could prolly help me with that!

My car and what it has
1997 318i m44 1.9L (slow)
Ground Control Track/School Coilovers (forgot my spring rates, d0h!)
-Koni SA Inserts in M3 Strut Housings
M3 Swaybars F/R
2002 330i Front Brakes
17x8"wheels with 235/40/17 Toyo T1R's all around
Future: Purchasing a set of 17x7.5" wheels (dunno what tires yet)

The Toyo's (r compound tires) put you in Street Prepared (DSP?) but you will be more competive in STX probably.

Go get some street tires and you can start to beat up on Tommy and Sean.

I don't think brakes are legal in SP unless its update/backdate, which those are not because of the different line.

So, I'm guessing STX on your current streets, or SM if you went to Rs.

I believe you could be in STS with 7.5" width rims and 225 tires. 8" puts it in STX.

Ok... So someone at the AutoX yesterday brought to my attention that my brakes are NOT legal for STS. So I looked in the rule book and for STS you cannot update the caliper. For STX you can as long as it bolts to the stock bracket.

So I will be selling my brakes and just going back to stockers.

I didn't realize STS was different from STX in this regard. That's a bummer, but at least it should fund some other good parts for the car... If I weren't completely happy with my brakes (other than the intermittent ABS issue), I'd be interested..... What are they and how much do you want for them? I'll keep an eye out for buyers...

They are 330i brakes, 325mm rotor (5mm bigger the e36 m3). I recently cleaned and painted (silver) the caliper. I bought them alittle over a month ago and have been happy with them ever since. The pads probably have about 80% life left in them. They use e36 m3 pads for replacements.

I bought the calipers, brackets, and rotors for $450 so I would like to get at least $400.

Bummer about the brakes as well. I didn't realize that STS had different rules as well. As far as pricing, that does sound like a good deal. Now put that $400 into Evo school!

$400 will be going towards some very nice camber plates and some other toys for the car...
