Had to google that to find the full name.

Re: November 22, 2010
Did you see the Viper jumping in a braking zone? I'd say it is pretty rough, but you could argue that is more like a "real world" Nurburgring style track.
I thought the show was worth watching personally. I liked the Lambo comparison. I had no idea they made all those cars. Something to dream about.

Re: November 22, 2010
Yeah I know there is no replacement for Clarkson. Tanner is a good fit, but I just don't see why they chose the other two.
As far as early Top Gear sucking, well thats why TG USA shouldn't! They know what they have to compete with, which is the current TG BBC series.
I didn't like the track because it just seemed slow on the first episode. Maybe it was just the camera placement, but the track just seemed slow. It also seemed very very rough.
I will continue to watch it just because I like cars and its a car show. I am an open minded person, so I will keep an open mind for episode 2. I just thought they could have done better.

Re: November 22, 2010
1) You have to remember is that early Top Gear sucked. It wasn't always as good as it is today.
2) There is no replacement for Clarkson on the planet. Others try and fail. Maybe they can get him to write some of the U.S. Top Gear stuff. If you've read his books from the '90s, you'll know that at least most of that stuff isn't written for him, he just comes up with that on his own. Part of it is built in cynicism, yet I've seen cynical auto writers that just seem cynical and not brilliant.
3) That being said, some of the humor can be TOO British at times with references to stuff that I can't even begin to understand, other than to know it must be funny since Clarkson said it.
4) Why don't you like the track? I thought it was a bit more interesting than the UK one and I very much like the overlay showing where the car is on the track.
5) I think it's tough to find hosts. From what I know, Clarkson was the only car guy of the current Top Gear hosts and he's just a writer, not a racer or anything like that. The others picked it up as they went along. Tanner has a leg up on that front. You also don't want a bunch of hardcore racer guys in all 3 host spots. That would lead to a boring show, imo. Are the other 2 guys the ones that should be there? I dunno.
6) I think it has potential. The episode was just okay, but there are also meh episodes of current Top Gear UK. It probably needs at least a full season to gain its legs. Hopefully they'll get that chance on History channel vs. the original plan of being on NBC.

I watched it and was not impressed.. The only host that is worth a shit is Tanner Foust. The other two clearly dont belong. The cinematography is on par with that of TopGear BBC.
You just can't replace Clarkson and the British humor. TopGear BBC > TopGear USA in my opinion.
oh and their test track SUCKS
