From the June Motor Trend: Chevy engineers working on the new Camaro have run into a small problem with the Australian-developed RWD platform: It's porky. Whisper out of Melbourne is the Zeta-based Commodore sedan, on sale this year in Australia, will weigh in at about 4000 pounds, mainly because of tough local crash-test regulations.

Also, apparently the Kappa platform-based (think Solstice) Chevy Stingray is a no-go. However, the V6 rumored for that is likely to appear in the Solstice at some point. Estimates are upwards of 300hp (variation of the 3.6 VVT V-6 in the Saturn Outlook/CTS). Maybe they're adding direct injection to it.
