Regarding the ZO6 dyno, here's some interesting emails from the f-body lists:

This one is in reference to the 127mph in the 1/4 that MT got on their testing:

"Can we assume 3300lbs with driver?

Car and driver was fond of the formula 221 * (hp/weight)^(1/3) + 10 -
but its usually done with SAE net. Again with 440hp that's about 124mph.

Remember that these formulas are basically calculated with the +10 and
the 221 as a fudge factor.

Others drop the +10 and use 23x instead. Some others use things like
the 3.003 vs. cubing (or cube root)

"Looks like those number may even be low due to heat
soak. LG just put a set of long tubes on the same car
and got 483 rwhp/460rwt. He noticed that the power
would drop significantly as the engine got heat
soaked. He is guessing that the stock tuning is pretty
heat sensitive. The original baseline was done with a
heat soaked car so he is guessing the we will see
higher stock numbers with a cool car. It looks though
that a set of header and tuning may get you 500 rwhp.

All said and done, it's still fricken fast!!

Car & Driver did 11.7 sec @ 125 mph, so that would be close enough for a margin of error. Motor Trend is pretty good at besting almost all of the other mags in acceleration tests, but these cars were apparently tested in Michigan at the same time from what I gathered reading the articles.
