{"id":1457,"date":"2018-07-27T12:46:05","date_gmt":"2018-07-27T20:46:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vorshlag.com\/blog\/?p=1457"},"modified":"2018-07-27T12:46:05","modified_gmt":"2018-07-27T20:46:05","slug":"s550-mustang-update-brake-tech-autox-time-trials-and-champagne","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vorshlag.com\/blog\/2018\/07\/s550-mustang-update-brake-tech-autox-time-trials-and-champagne","title":{"rendered":"S550 Mustang Update: Brake Tech, Autox, Time Trials, and Champagne!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vorshlag.com\/forums\/showthread.php?p=58733#post58733\">this mega-sized Forum Thread Update<\/a><\/strong> covering our S550 Mustang development (lately using our shop 2018 Mustang GT) we cover 5 more track days, Terry&#8217;s first autocross in the &#8217;18, some brake system changes\/tech\/testing, and more.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Racing-Events\/NASA-Cota-050518\/i-zgr9tZP\/2\/a7face38\/M\/P7A_5277-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We ran the car with NASA at COTA (above), with Optima at NOLA (below), with SCCA (Club Trials and Track Night in America), and even did some private testing on a road course (our 4th test at MSR-C). The good, the bad, and the ugly from each of these events is covered <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vorshlag.com\/forums\/showthread.php?p=58733#post58733\">in this round<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; with some nice wins and a few &#8220;non-wins&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Racing-Events\/Optima-Nola-TNiA-041218\/i-CMkDhxd\/1\/02b25ebb\/M\/DSC_0432-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some valuable lessons were learned about brake hydraulics after track testing the factory PP1 15&#8243; brake upgrade with the base GT brake master cylinder and booster on our &#8217;18. A bit frustrating where we learned that (at a televised Optima event!) but it was soon fixed and track tested <strong>3 more times<\/strong> after upgrading to the PP1 hydraulics and booster.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Projects\/Vorshlag-2018-Mustang\/i-76PwN5j\/0\/35bf5ba0\/M\/DSCN0046-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vorshlag.com\/forums\/showthread.php?p=58733#post58733\">This update<\/a><\/strong> is chock full of dozens of pictures, many videos, and lots of other late model Mustang tech.
