{"id":1136,"date":"2016-09-12T13:11:12","date_gmt":"2016-09-12T21:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.vorshlag.com\/blog\/?p=1136"},"modified":"2016-09-12T13:11:12","modified_gmt":"2016-09-12T21:11:12","slug":"c5-races-in-cam-s-at-scca-solo-nationals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.vorshlag.com\/blog\/2016\/09\/c5-races-in-cam-s-at-scca-solo-nationals","title":{"rendered":"C5 Races in CAM-S at SCCA Solo Nationals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last week&#8217;s record breaking attendance at the SCCA Solo Nationals was hectic but fun, and Terry from Vorshlag drove with Mark Council in his 2002 Corvette in the CAM-S class, which is covered in the latest installment of our <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vorshlag.com\/forums\/showthread.php?p=58406#post58406\">C5 Corvette development thread<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Racing-Events\/2016-SCCA-Solo-Nationals\/i-JmFmvvp\/1\/M\/DSC_3525-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The weather was tricky &#8211; as is always the case in Nebraska in September &#8211; and they had to fight with wet conditions in one of their race heats, as did many other autocrossers that week. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Racing-Events\/2016-SCCA-Solo-Nationals\/i-FWR2Xsv\/1\/M\/DSC_3465-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>C5 Corvettes did well at this event and the C5 Z06 above took the overall win (and 5th place with a 2nd driver) in CAM-S at Nationals.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Racing-Events\/2016-SCCA-Solo-Nationals\/i-jCpGFrR\/1\/M\/DSC_3480-M.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vorshlag.com\/forums\/showthread.php?p=58406#post58406\">You can read here<\/a><\/strong> for a detailed explanation of the event, testing, town hall meeting, and the two race days. This post has dozens of pictures and one in-car video from the West course, too.
