If we have contacted you about prototype testing and you are located in the Dallas, Texas area we may offer or insist that we install the products at our R&D facility. This is to help us find any installation issues, to take pictures for installation pictures, and to do some baseline set-up with the parts.
One of the set-ups steps we may or may perform include four corner weight testing and/or corner weight balancing. For Ferrari F430 or 911 Turbo owners we'll even provide free pick-up and drop off of service for your car. heh.
Another series of prototype testers we work with are LS1 engine swap customers. We have done a couple of these swaps and are interested in looking at other BMW models for potential swaps. If it is lightweight, rear wheel drive and can swallow an LS1 we're probably looking at it already. Got an 850 with a busted motor? How about an E46 that needs a V8? Let us know.
Interested in becoming a tester and you are local to DFW? Call or e-mail info@vorshlag.com for an appointment. We need testers for different cars throughout the year, but it may not include your car, or we may need a tester that does club racing events.

Vorshlag hosts 2-3 practice autocross events each year where we invite local racers and customers to come out and run with us for a day of intense testing. The events are kept small (invitation or appointment only) so that attendees can get ample track time. We set up the following test elements at our events:
- 150 or 200' (diameter) skidpad
- 660' slalom
- Increasing/decreasing radius oval
- 30-40 second mini course, with timers
Between us we have run hundreds and set-up dozens of autocross and/or practice courses over the past 20 years, so you won't see goofy layouts that don't reflect real course designs. The three "element" courses are always measured out with a track map and measurement equipment for accuracy (150 or 200' skidpad is 200' +/- 1%). This also lends consistency in testing over time. The timed course is different for each event but has very common sections that seem to end up in all courses.
Best of all, there are no worker assignments or rigid run orders - you can test all day! Reserve time with the DL-1 or borrow the pyrometer to further your tuning abilities at the event. You must have previous autocross experience to attend these events - not for noobs. Since we operate in a self-policing manner, if you misbehave, you won't be back. These events are for the autocrosser serious about improving their set-up and/or driving. Some of Texas' finest solo2 drivers have and will continue to attend these events; asking fellow attendees to drive your car on the timed course to compare times/styles is common... and fun!
