Note: This component is not designed to work with right-hand drive E36 vehicles.
This cart entry is for an ABS hydraulic pump unit relocaiton bracket, that works in the BMW E36 chassis for LS1 swaps. When installing an LSx-based V8 engine in these cars the stock locaiton of the ABS pump unit is inside where our Vorshlag full length headers reside, and it all gets a bit too crowded. We recommend relocationg the hydraulic unit to the front left corner of the car, as shown in the pictures below.
This bracket is made from laser cut plate steel, designed and bent here at Vorshlag, then electro-plated with the Zinc Chromate process for corrosion resistence. The bracket has 3 integral holes for attachment to the chassis, including a center mounted hole that keys off a stud in the left front chassis tube normally used for locating the stock BMW air box (note: 4-channel bracket mounts differently - see pictures). The other 2 holes are in tabs on the bracket that can be drilled through and bolted to the inner fender sheet metal. All hardware is included for installation of the bracket and hydraulic unit, including two M6 bolts + nylock nuts and the BMW sourced plastic nut for the chassis stud. We also include three new BMW sourced bushings, bushing cups and locking nuts to attach the ABS unit to the bracket.

The initial design of this bracket was for the 3 channel ABS pump unit only, but we now offer both a 3 channel and 4 channel bracket (the pump unit on the 4-channel is longer). The differences are year specific: 1992-1994 model E36 cars use the 3-channel, and the 1996-99 M3s and 328 cars have a 4-channel ABS units. The 4 channel ABS units are easy to spot - they have 6 screw-in connections for hardlines instead of 5 (3 channel systems). Again - this is all keyed off the model year of the chassis.
(insert pictures of 3-channel vs 4-channel ABS units)
Since the ABS unit is being relocation, you will also need to extend the hardlines from the brake master cylinder, hardlines to the 3 or 4 brake channels (rear + LF and RF), and the two low pressure supply lines from the reservoir. This is a considerable amount of brake hard line bending, flaring and fabricaiton - so we offer complete kits to swap the brake hard lines, avaiable separately. Some DIY folks like ot "roll their own" so we offer the bracket alone, as a lower cost option.
