60mm Spring Rear Ride Height Adjusters for the E8x/E9x chassis
This catalog entry is for a pair of adjustable height rear spring platforms, designed to work with 60mm inner diameter (ID) coilover rear springs mounted in the stock spring location at the rear of a BMW E90 (3 series) or E82 (1 series). These will also work on the E9x M3 rear camber links. These are high quality products made by AST in Holland, with easy adjustments. To adjust the height unload the rear suspension (jack up the rear at the differential), reach in and turn the platforms. The threaded spring perch uses a bolt for locking the perch into place.
A rubber ring is inset at the bottom of the assembly. The material for the rest of the assembly is made up of black anodized aircraft grade aluminum alloy. These can be adjusted from a minimum of 1" thick to a maximum of 2.75" thick, to adjust rear ride height. These can be adjusted independently on each side, and when coupled with coilover front struts, used for 4 corner balancing ("corner weighting") as well.
This particular model has been optimized to run at the top of the spring on the back of a BMW E90/E82. The ID is 45mm (which mates to the factory spring location stub) and OD of the platform is 94mm.
Note: Up until October of 2011, these were made to work with 2.5" ID springs only. These now come machined to fit 60mm ID springs.
