  • Inventory Clearance at Vorshlag (AST, Moton)

I thought about doing a "Hurricane Preparation Clearance" or something funny like that, but I'm just not very funny. The fact is we've got several sets of AST shocks on the shelf here at Vorshlag that many folks probably don't know about. One set is left over from a cancelled order, some are random sets we picked up for "inventory hoarding" months ago that have just hung around too long, and some sets we have are unique AST 4100 coilover sets that are the last remaining sets in the USA. We're not discounting them (any further than already listed) or blowing them out, just letting people know what we have on the shelf that can ship today, some of which are out of stock at all other AST dealers. Let's start with the most rare sets first.

Note: I will update this post as well as our online shopping cart entries as these sets sell out

Subaru 4100 for GD chassis STi - This is the last set of a bunch we picked up in the Spring, but the rest have since sold. Great for street, track, or autocross use. Call us for spring recommendations - or anything else you have questions about. We had this box set aside to use for Brianne Corn's Pikes Peak Subaru, but when that race was delayed by four weeks we had time to look for a more extreme tarmac rally set-up, which AST-USA helped us put together for her 2012 race up the mountain (big 50mm inverted AST 6100 rally shocks). So now this is the last set of GD STi 4100 shocks on the planet, just looking for a new home. We've had other AST dealers try to horse trade for this set, but we're hanging on to them for a customer sale instead. Hyperco or Swift Springs, Vorshlag front and rear camber plates, and these STi-fitment shocks can all ship today. This set won't last long.

BMW Z3 or 318ti 4100s - Another one that is the last set currently in stock on the planet, waiting for you right here at Vorshlag. The Z3 (and 318ti) is a unique car, with E36 front suspension but E30 rear suspension, so it takes this hybrid set of E36 front struts and short E30 rear shocks. If you've been putting off that Z3 shock upgrade because nobody ever has the set you want in stock, now is the time to pounce. We always try to stock these, but whenever we have a set they rarely last more than a week on the shelf. This single set just arrived and would work great on a Z3, Z3M, coupe or roadster, BMW or LS1 powered!

BMW E30 4100s with modified E30 front strut housings (4-lug) - We have two sets of these AST shock sets plus Vorshlag built, coilover-converted front strut housings to make for a painless, bolt-on upgrade to your BMW E30 chassis. We talk about the steps it takes to shorten, re-tap, and modify these strut housings to work with the AST monotube front inserts here. After all of that, the housings are bead blasted and powder coated gloss black and they look money. Two sets of housings and shocks are on the shelf, ready to ship. Before we sold our $2011 GRM Challenge winning, V8 powered widebody E30 we installed a set of AST 4100s on it and that made a huge improvement to both handling and ride.

BMW E90/E82 (non-M) 4100s - This set sitting on our shelf is not so rare, as AST-USA has some additional units at their facility. We have a this one here at Vorshlag only because we picked up a set for a customer that turned out to be a thief. No worries - we spotted the credit card fraud and refunded the full amount quickly, long before they were ever shipped, but now we have an extra E90 4100 kit sitting on the shelf. If you are wanting to ship to a freight forwarder, to anywhere in Singapore, or the name and billing address on the credit card doesn't match the ship-to info, prepare for some phone calls from us (heh!), but otherwise these can ship quickly! Camber plates and springs can be built and packaged in minutes, as this set is already QC'd, wrapped, boxed up, weighed and ready to go.

BMW E36 4100 - AST still has a couple sets of their 4100 coilover sets for the BMW E36 chassis next door and this model is still clearanced priced, ready to move in preparation for the more costly 4150 models. $1649 for a set of AST monotube singles is a steal, and these have been moving well the last few months. These particular 4100 sets have all of the latest updates to that 4100 model series, plus the new rear adjuster mechanisms (12mm upper shafts) from the 4150, and adjustable swaybar mounts. Camber plates, springs and shocks can be QC'd, wrapped, boxed and shipped within a few hours of an order being placed.

BMW E46 4100 - Same as the E36 sets above, these are in stock next door at AST-USA and we could have them at our facility for inspection and packaging quickly. The E46 4100 sets are all pinned and include the GRAND AM billet swaybar brackets, and are still only $1649 (the new 4150 will likely be closer to $2200). If you purchase the optional "AST Black" spherical rear shock mounts or E46 M3 HD rubber RSMs at the same time as the shock purchase, Vorshlag will pre-install and torque these to the rear shocks for you. This speeds up your install and removes a common hassle and potential noise complaint (from under-torquing the rear top nuts).

Mitsubishi EVO X 4100 - This is a new stock item that is available from AST-USA. We've got the matching front camber/caster plates here at Vorshlag as well as the springs to make it all work. One set remaining and it won't last long.

BMW E36 4200 - The double adjustable monotube without remote reservoirs from AST is the 4200, and it is a lot of shock for the money. A few sets of these 4200s are in stock that were recently built, as the replacement 4250 model is still many months out. These are not on clearance, but there is a temporary discount available on these priced at $2500 (normally $2900), which is a big savings. Camber plates, RSMs, springs are all here and ready to package up for a complete double adjustable set.

    Moton Competition Shocks with Remotes

There are some Motons on the shelf next door at Moton USA that are being moved out of inventory as well, mostly left over stock from the Moton acquisition in 2011. Some of these (noted below) have the 7 click adjusters instead of the normal 14 clicks, but they work fine - just without as "fine" of an adjustment per click. These Moton race shock sets listed below include discounts, and I am showing the car model, Moton model, any details, retail price and sale prices below. There are more sets than what I have listed, but these are the ones our customers would likely want. Please call for more details.
    • BMW E92 M3, Moton Competition 3-way, Complete set, $8200 retail, $6500 sale price.
    • BMW E90, Moton 2-way, Complete set, 7-position, QuickDisc on "pin-pin" style rears. $4900 retail, $3900 sale price.
    • VW Golf R32, Moton 2-way, Complete set, 7-position, $4900 retail, $3800 sale price.
    • Porsche 997 Cup, Moton Motorsport 2-way, Complete set, $5900 retail, $4800 sale price.
    • Nissan R35 GTR, Moton Motorsport 2-way, Complete set, $6200 retail, $5000 sale price.
    • Porsche Boxster 986, Moton 2-way, 7-position, Complete set, $5900 retail, $4700 sale price.

This is by no means a complete listing of what AST/Moton USA has in stock, just some AST items we have here at Vorshlag, some Moton close-out kits, plus a few items I know they have next door at their facility. Feel free to call us at 972-422-7170 for more information about anything listed here.

    Thanks,
