I vote STX.. no one has prepped one for the class yet. Although we do have a local guy running a '97 mustang in stx. He recently started to prep for the class actually.

      SOOOO.......

Should we setup a poll for a what class with the Mustang run in?

For all future potential co-drivers. You may need to provide your own phonebook. Apparently not all people can comfortably see over the dash.
Does STU and STX run at the same time? Does anyone know? I'll bring wheels and tires if not

STX, STU, and ESP all run on Thurs/Fri. Not sure how they will lay run/work order, but if it works, I may can be persuaded.

          Paul,
I may can make it in *early on Friday, but I doubt I can do a prior to 3pm showing.

You just have to know which buttons to press and then the car pretty much drives itself. Just mash all the pedals and saw the wheel a lot.

Re: To go STU or not (2006 Mustang GT)

Ill just put a final note on this, and give my impressions of the car in the class.

I ran the car for the entire year in STU minus Nats. The car progressed well throughout the year. It is sure footed and feels great. I was able to get a couple of runs in a STI and such during this time, and the time difference was not great. As Nationals moved towards us the decision was made and Hoosiers were ordered.

I feel that with some more work and time, the Mustang is a solid mid to back trophy car. I think it is about like FS though, you will be chasing the fast guys all the time. I think that if you had a Bullitt, you have a better chance. The gears can only help.

The car is big, I have mine down in current trim to 3300. With the rest of ST mods that are allowed, another 100 at most is possible. 3225 may be the limit the car can see. I cant forsee anything under 3200 for the car.

I do think that the car may do better in STX than STU. STX without the lighter and possibly more powerful STEvo's would give it a better start.

I plan to continue to work on the car. Ill work towards moving up in ESP. I have quite a bit that I can do to get to that point. This should give me plenty to work with for a few years. Hopefully I can continually move the car up in the class.
