  • For Sale - '91 BMW 318is, SCCA autox/NASA TT prepped (Former Vorshlag car)

Yes, the former Vorshlag-built little 1991 318is is forsale again. I've owned the car for almost 3 years and it's been a little trooper. Never has it let me down and it has always been a blast to drive. Since the time I've owned it, has been even more thoroughly developed at first for SCCA ST class (competitive locally & regionally) and well as NASA TT (TTD or TTE depending on what tires you want to run). It's also recently gone through a mild restoration with fresh paint and cleaned up/restored trim. Overall the paint and bodywork is at best "racecar" good but its shinny and clean. Overall, this car is EXTREMELY clean, inside, out, underneath. Also, this car has NO rust as it's been in TX all it's life.
The current weight is 2400lbs. Before the roll bar I got the car down to 2336lbs.
130ish rwhp based on last dyno plus added exhaust/cold-air mods
173k miles on the odometer but it’s been broken since I’ve owned it (approx 1k miles per year max)

    Current set of parts/mods/maintenance:
AST 4100 monotube front struts, rebound adjustable
Vorshlag built, 1" Shortened front strut housings, upper OEM spring perch removed. Entire housing and spindle zinc-chromate plated (gold zinc).
AST 4300 monotube rear shocks, with remote reservoirs. Custom built to allow for added droop travel. Rebound adjustable on top of shock, hi/lo speed compression adjusters on canisters.
Vorshlag camber-caster plates + race bearing upper perches. Front is adjustable to -4.2° camber and +9° caster.
H&R tubular adjustable 22 mm front swaybar
AKG polyurethane offset rear control arm bushings
    AKG polyurethane differential bushings
    AKG polyurethane rear subframe bushings
Custom built Vorshlag Competition Motor Mounts, 70A durometer polyurethane
Vorshlag Competition Transmission Mounts, 80A durometer polyurethane
New Z3 shifter, bushings, etc - shifts very nicely
stock replacement clutch and pressure plate
M42 1.8L DOHC 4 cylinder BMW engine and BMW Getrag 5-spd (August 2007)
Vorshlag M12-1.5 x 75mm long Competition Wheel Studs, lug nuts, and 5mm wheel spacers
New front & rear brake rotors, Hawk HP+ pads, and new front wheel bearings
Re-plated disc brake dust shields (zinc chromate electroplating)
BMW '95 M3 front lower control arm bushings + housings
Stainless Steel Header (4 into 1) w/ all new studs/nuts
MagnaFlow CARB legal stock replacement high flow catalytic converter
Vorshlag built after-header custom exhaust. Made with .049" (20gauge) mild steel SPD mandrel bends and 2.25" diameter pipe. Hushpower muffler, turn down after axle. It is loud but passes SCCA sound tests (below 95 decibels)
UltraShield RallyPro aluminum seats. Driver's side is 15" wide, passenger side is 17" width, both 10° layback. Driver's side has Sparco dual locking sliders and custom floor brackets. Pass side has fix brackets with the seat biased as far down and back as it can go. Very light seats.
In-dash CD/MP3/Stereo (DIN) w/ AUX input + Cell phone Dash Mount
Odyssey PC680 lightweight battery located in trunk (stock location). Works great for daily driving use, plenty of CCA for cold starting. Custom Vorshlag battery mount.
Cold-air kit and largest K&N filer I could fit
Turner Motorsports chip. Higher 7000 rpm rev limit and claimed "+14 hp gain". Have not tested that claim but it does pull harder.
Kirk custom grey power-coated 4-point roll bar (harness and camera mount shown in pictures NOT included)
Medium size differential case with 325ix viscous diff (I have original small non-lsd case as well)
Flog light delete panels + larger front air dam
All vacuum & PVC hoses replace/rerouted
    New e-brake shoes
Fresh plugs, fluids, fuel filter, etc
    Wheels/tires included:
    -1 set of 15x7" Kazara KZ/M wheels w/ 205 Yoks
-1 set of 15x7.5” Rota Slipstreams w/ 225 RS3 (brand spanking new, 0 race laps/0 autox runs, 5 miles max
Honesty, just put gas in it and drive to the track, lap/autox, drive home.

Known problems – A/C compressor is installed but the system is not charged (car comes with a reman A/C compressor in box), slight front pan/cover oil leak, power steering pump makes noise but only when cold during parking maneuvers, odometer broken, cracks on dash
Body does still have some minor/small dents plus some slight hail damage. Again, nothing major but I do want to set proper expectations as I have nothing to hide with this car.

    Now on to the pics:

Asking $5500 PM me here or feel free to email me

The car is located in the North Dallas, TX area. Delivery available for a minor fee in about a 250 mile radius. Thanks for looking!

Oh yea, the car is registered (clean title in hand), inspected, and insured. Also, the password for smugmug is "1995" for the pics.

Car is officially SOLD! Hey, can a MOD (looking at Fair) edit my first post and remove my smugmug hyperlink as well as my email address?

      Thanks!
