$13K gets you a LOT of goodies in a competitive, proven car. If you want to go STU racing in a BMW this is an easy way to get a step ahead.

Sad to see him leave the BMW fold.

I'd consider it, but certainly not not until my house is sold and I'm comfortably in the new place!!

Money doesn't fall from trees for all of us. A new (to me) car will have to wait.

You'll have NOTHING and LIKE IT!

"Naked" pic of Mike's M3 from this past weekend with none of the graphics (just magnetic #s and class letters):

Re: FS: Mike Neary's STU prepped '95 M3

It's a good looking car and a great deal for an STU-ready racecar. Not that I'm in position to shell out $13k for a car just yet, but there's also several other things I'll need to consider before buying a car. The biggest of which is which car do I want. You'll sh!t when you hear what I'm thinking of.

Sure, an E36 M3 for STU is up there....preferably a sedan. An early 330i for STX is also a front runner. A 350Z is a possibility (used, of course) and so is an '05 Mustang for F-Stock. Lastly......a '96-'98 Cobra for ESP.

                  Let the hatemail begin!!!!

Haven't you ALREADY been the "'96-'98 Cobra for ESP" route?

So, WRX/STi/Evo is out of the picture this week?

Are the 350Z cars competitive? In what class? You'd prefer a SEDAN M3 but are considering a TWO-SEATER Z-car? Uhh...

I think living in Austin too long is making you wierd.

Obfuscation usually requires a lot more words than if you simply focus on fundamental principles, so I’m not at all surprised by the loquaciousness of liberals.

I know, I know... Truth be told, regarding the Cobra....well, I just really, really liked that car and it's the ONE car I honestly wish I'd never sold. Super fun on the street, fast (enough), simple for the most part, and reasonably competitive in ESP....which is the configuration I'd want it in anyway even if I didn't race.

All wheel drives don't really float my boat so much. Sure, I'll consider one when the time comes, but a STEvo is out of the self-imposed budget. A WRX is a possibility, though. It just depends on what I want more: fun car on the street (Mustang) or autocross competitor (WRX).

I realize the 330i may be an underdog, but I'm not so sure. I lost to one in '05 when I finished 3rd at Nats. They can be fast. Not sure if they still are, though. Actually, I don't know if any RWD cars can compete in ST_ anymore with a true chance to win Nats. That's a question I'll have to answer for myself possibly...and one I'd need to know before considering an M3 for STU.

And good point about the 350Z two seater vs. the M3 sedan. I guess I'd like to know that if the space is there that it'll be more easily accessible. Nonetheless, I'd certainly still consider a coupe if I opted for an M3. Not sure why I threw the 350Z in there, really. The buy-in price is likely too high for my budget. Likely the same goes for an '05 Mustang.

If you buy a G35/0Z, I'll kick you in the s4ck. Those cars were designed by Satan himself and break if you look at them crooked. Routine maintenance is hell and the gas mileage sucks. Trust me, I own one.
