2004 FORD F-350 Dually Crew Cab

Time to upgrade! We'll be traveling more next year so we need to upgrade the tow vehicle. This truck has the "infamous" Powerstroke 6.0L. Don't be fooled though. They are great motors once you fix all the "gotchas". DO NOT buy a 6.0L that has not been gone through like this one. Any 100k mile 6.0L will have about $15,000 in maintenance at some point. This one has already had it done!

Miles: 132,xxx

Notable options:

- XLT package
- 16" Aluminum wheels
- Keyless entry
- Power windows, locks
- Power driver's seat
- Limited slip differential

Things added to the truck:
- Kenwood full screen stereo with Sirius, Nav, and back up camera at tag hitch
- New BFG tires (spare replaced last year, never used)
- Nerf bars (the nice ones, powercoated)
- Extang hard bed cover
- Draw Tite rails for gooseneck, gooseneck unit not included
- New rear seat from a brand new 2009 F-350, matches interior
- Electric brake controller
- BullyDog programmer. Never run over "Tow mode". Shows oil, water, and trans temp simultaneously

Known issues:
- Driver's side electric mirror broken
- Windshield recently cracked
- Front brakes have 40% life

Maintenance performed over the past 1.5 years:
- New injectors
- New head gaskets (with ARP head bolts)
- EGR Delete
- New oil cooler
- New glow plugs
- New Fuel Injection Computer Module
- New Engine wiring harness
- New High Pressure Oil Pump
- New battery
- New alternator
- New camshaft position sensor and crank position sensor
- New fan clutch
- New thermostat
- New pinion seals

Price: $16,000

This truck would make a great tow vehicle for someone running any level of amateur motorsports. It has pulled our gooseneck from Texas to Florida all the way to Connecticut. Even with all the work we've done, it never left us stranded.

I've driven this truck from Florida to Texas twice this past year with their gooseneck trailer and it really does great.

What did you get? F550?

2012 Ram 3500, 4wd.

Standard with 800 lb-ft of torque.

Couldn't afford anything bigger and I'd run the risk of needing a CDL if we went over the 26k pound limit.
