Entered in F class...

"you get an F!"

This month is a BEATING: raced today at Pennington, then next weekend's Walnut-450-miles-away-Ridge Pro Solo, then the following weekend at TMS, then the FOLLOWING weekend at the Houston Tour!!!???

Nuts... pure NUTS!

Ya, this month is a beating for sure. AND an expensive one at that.

I'm signed up in Z Class.

Remember, this event is capped, get in while you can.

Been really happy with my $75 315/35/17 GSCS, they wear like Toyo's...

Overheard in the pits:
"Toyo's suck, but they suck for a long time..."

Y'all don't forget this event is capped, not sure how many they got right now.....

Great location, easy to get to, nice restaurants nearby and usually an onsite concession stand with expensive hot dogs/hamburgers.

Just 2 exits south there's a Schlotzsky's Deli, Dickey's BBQ, Snotty Pig Deli, and some other fast food chains.

They have real bathrooms and showers, too.

Surface really has no gravel, though it likes to make your R tires bark....

Can one of you Bimmers bring your "jacking pucks" ?

I've heard they lock in place on the C5 Vettes and some people just leave them there...but I can't envision how it would lock in place, so I'd like to just see what it really looks like...

Otherwise my .99ct hockey pucks are working great....

I don't think I have any pucks left, but you're welcome to pull one off if they're there.

Hmm, good question. I don't know what other cars had the DL1, but mine is probably the 2:53 or 3:38. Just look for the crappy lines. ;)

Just looking through it this morning....

Paul: 1.07g
Terry: 1.08g
Sean: 1.00g :(
Dean: 1.10g!

I made a sway bar adjustment before Terry took the car. I guess either that or Terry driving "wheels off" is what beat you guys. I'll check the sector times and see. Obviously the tires aren't that much better.

Another favorite data point for Longitudinal accel:

Paul: 1.00g
Terry: 0.5g :( :( :(

Braking was nearly identical at 1.12g.

Oh well, we'll see how it goes when these tires wear out and I get new ones. Apparently it was good enough to do decently in my class. :)

Okay, that's just freaking amazing. I should NEVER, EVAR ride in Pauls car. It'll make me want to spend money.

Would driving a car a little 'loose' in the rear, exaggerate peak g-forces ?

I ran before 4:22pm, and after Paul's longitudinal accel run, so I may be 2nd from the bottom of your time stamps. Terry was the last to use the DL-1 that day and I only used it once, since Paul had to leave the corner station, he was assigned to work, 30 minutes early to get his installed in the 20 seconds it took to install in my car for the first time and wasn't able to return back to the corner station after installing it.... :p

Car felt loose, but that might just be me.... :D

HAHAHA, ya, we misjudged that by a little bit. I didn't leave until the last cars were on their second lap. Didn't think it would take them so long.

The sick part is that on one of my afternoon runs (I took passengers on the first 2 - paul then sean) was on pace to be 2 seconds faster than my best morning run... right until the showcase turn at the end, where I spun the HELL outta the rears after the rear stepped out. And that was with carrying SeanT!!! That little stint of drifting boiled the rears and subsequent 2 last runs, w/o passengers but no "tire cool down time", were way off pace. You cannot ever, EVER spin a Falken. They require a total BATH in cold water or lots of air cooling time to come back to normal.

So, I threw away FTD and have no one to blame but myself. :( No more pimping and no more passengers - especially not Paul "no need to use those shoulder harnesses!" Maygar. That TOTALLY freaked me out... *BANG* *BANG**BANG**BANG**BANG**BANG**BANG**BANG**BANG* on the back of the seat. Banned for life! :p

Paul
