  • We weighed the Bird

The Golden Boy wanted to weigh his car before selling it, here is what we found.

LF/RF/LR/RR and total. The first one is no driver. The next two are with Jason and we did some weight jacking on the last one. We didn't have the right tools to move the LF so we did the RR and got the cross a little more even.

The general idea is that if you increase the ride height, you increase the weight on that corner AND the weight on the opposite corner AND lower it on the two adjacent corners.

After just rolling the car up there:
    1995 Pontiac Firebird 1021 977 700 755 3453

After putting the driver in the car you can see that the L/R and Cross weights are off. The LF/RR is by far the heaviest:
    1995 Pontiac Firebird 1114 990 785 805 3694

    Cross: 1919 (52%) and 1775 (48%)

After moving the RR spring perch down 3 turns, you can see we moved weight off the LF and RR to the RF and LR. I think we went too far, but we were really just playing around:

    1995 Pontiac Firebird 1095 1003 809 785 3694

    Cross: 1880 (51%) and 1812 (49%)

BTW, a 315 Kuhmo on a 17x11 wheel weights 57 pounds. Thanks to Duck for pushing that big booty on the ramps!!

Hah! I figured out the same thing in my head. I'm somewhere in that neighborhood though (235 a month ago), so I can't say a word.
