That RX-7 was a seriously prepped ASP car on V710s. I don't mind racing against cars out of my class, but he freaking killed us.

710's would be at least 2 s on your Toyos esp on a long course like that. Nevermind a prepped ASP car. I hope he's faster than you or else he sucks!

Yeah, he would have had to suck to let us be close. I'm just glad he doesn't come out too often. Dean mentioned trying the 710s on my car after these are gone. It might be fun.

He has done all the Cobb engine mods, ECU (more boost), downpipe, exhaust, cold air, etc. Cobb says that is 50HP and 80TQ over stock.

I was on crappy tires this weekend and it showed.

Last week I was on fresh tires and the SCCA results were:
Magyar, Paul Silver 2005 Subaru WRX STi 63.385
Garner, Gabby White 2005 Subaru WRX STI 64.575

Mr. Yuk-y-yuk.. Your E36 is not a daily driver anymore! You might actually
finish first in "G" this year if you go out and get some *real*
pads... (DOH!)

Dr. Marcus Dubya..... *M.D*... prescribes some Hawk HT10s, Ferodo
DS-3000s, or Porterfield RS-4s and some Castrol SRF... For less than
the cost of half a set of Michelin Sport cups... you'll be able to get that
E36 barge hauled down properly....!! lol...

Kudos to you indeed for turning out the *third* best time..
(sorry.. runner up went to the Instigator.. even though it didn't rain)
*especially* with your Achilles brakes... er.. uh... heel..

Ok.. E36 M3 owners that actually *drive* their cars hard...
Here's Dubya's top ten reasons why *not* to buy a used E36 M3.

10- replace water pump every 65K
9- metal thermostat housing
8- radiator every 65K or just go buy the $699 Fluidyne (ouch)
7- Samco hoses... hey... these are a must for any track car..
6- Replace OE shocks every 60K or spend $800-1600
bucks and go aftermarket and do it right the first time..
5- Replace rear trailing arm bushings every 65K
(notice a theme here?)
4- Replace power steering "hose high side" hose
3- blown head gaskets becoming as common as E30M3
main bearing failures...
2- Replace clutch before 100K.. (WTF??).. upgrade
to lightweight flywheel and this is only a $2000 job!
1- You get to watch the car's value drop *below* that of a
comparable mileage E30 M3!!! (especially if it's an automatic!)

Before our Esteemed President gets on his horse to disagree...
(his E36 M3 has only had one or two of the afflictions above)
and before I get accused of E36 M3 bashing...let it be known
that this is indeed all in fun... although some parts very much true...

Mark Y knows that I'd *love* to have an E36 M3 in the garage
(Indeed much more than a Subaru Legacy GT.. ) alongside my
E30 M3... The E36 is a great street car and a darn good autocross car...
My statements about not buying a 7-8 year old car were more in
favor of a BRAND NEW car... There's a LOT to be said for a
car under warranty..! Ask me how I know... <sigh> ....

I have to leave with one head scratcher.... where are all the E46 M3s?
We'd love to see some more out at the events... While E36 M3s
currently remain the top dawg BMW at our autocrosses... the E46 M3
is now fully 4 years old and *clearly* a better chassis than the E36 M3
(as anyone who watches club racing or Speed World challenge well knows)

Hehe, I will co-drive your car (not on the 9th though, that is the divisional in Houston). =) No guarentees on place. Or maybe you can talk Terry into co-driving (of course that would put you in second).

Haha... don't count your wooden nickels before... uhhh... that's not a given. Hanchey and I are 1 and 1 for co-drives in his M3. With his increasing seat time and my total lack thereof, I wouldn't put $1 on a bet.

But I'd still like to try to topple Yuico! And I'll pay your entry fee... and that $20 I keep forgetting to give ya for BHoT "dues".
