Drag racing is for people who can't autocross
It would be pretty funny, though. The M3 wheelhops pretty bad on hard launches I've found - not teh drag racing masheen.Teucci has a good point about trannies - TommyComment

I didn't have that problem up at the Denton track, but I was told somwhat how to launch beforehand (around 2500-3000rpm and clutch dump, I believe). But yeah, not the drag racing machine.Originally posted by C3Drag racing is for people who can't autocross

I'll pass on Ennis. Drag racing is 90% money spent and 10% talent. My goal in any form of racing is rarely to outspend my opponent.

ps: drag racing IS all about money. a monkey can drive a 9 second car if set-up with line lock, trans brake, launch light boxes, slicks, etc. It is STILL fun to take your auto-x/street car to the drag strip and see "what it runs". When I auto-x'd more compatitively (for about 3 days back in the early 90's?) I used frequent trips to the strip to tell me if the car was "working" or not. Dyno testing can do the same thing but isn't as fun as smacking down some hoopty Mustang drag race queen.
